Leopard Man

In The Sociology of Leopard Man, Logan Feys explains in his article that,”Society tends to discourage people from expressing their unique ideas and behaving in ways that are different from their peers.” I believe this is true because very few people can be themselves. Everyone should feel comfortable with how they really are. It’s hard to believe that people get bullied for being different. People that are different are awesome because they are showing that you don’t have to be like everyone else.

The author’s argument is saying something that is true. Why should people be scared to show the world who they really are? They shouldn’t be scared. When he says,”Society looks down upon freakish and extraordinary individuals alike and views them with suspicion,” that is true but it shouldn’t be true because what if the two sides switched with the other people wouldn’t like it. You have to put yourself in other peoples shoes and reflect off of that. Doing this can really improve yourself and how you do things and it will be in a good way not bad.

When the author talks about Leopard Man and how his life style is, imagine how people react to that. Does Leopard Man care? No, he doesn’t. He says,”As far as I’m conceded, if theres a paradise on Earth, I’m in it. You’re welcome to what you’ve got I’ll keep this.” This proves that everyone can truly be themselves. People that find themselves are the happiest people because they know who they are and not what they think they are.

Five Things You Can Do To Be Yourself

Five Things You Can Do To Be Yourself

1. Non-Conformity. Are you different from everyone else? If you are that means you are unique. It’s great to be who you want to be because you are special. Non-Conformity is being different but usually when you think of it it’s bad but in this situation different is great. How do you do it? You first have to know who you are on the inside not the outside. Like if you're cursing up a storm with your friends and when you're with family and you’re quite that shows that you just do it for your friends (
Guillebeau).
2. Challenge Acceptance. Only few can be who they really are but it takes a strong one to start being themselves once they have been someone else. Try being yourself for a day you will see the difference and you’ll feel great doing it. Once you accept it then that means you finally realized it and you're becoming mature. If you do decide to try it comment the experience below and become a helper instead of a watcher (Wright).
3. Journey. Who are you? Is a question you need to ask yourself. Getting to know yourself is not easy but accomplishable. To be yourself is really about dropping the fake act you put on and show who you are for example if you love technology you show it off and you’re not worrying about what other people are thinking or saying (
people skills decoded).
4. Don’t Follow Others. If you are one of those people that does what’s in then you are conformity. You do what other people are doing. You have to follow yourself and not do what your friends are doing. I’m pretty sure everyone has heard “So, if your friends jump off a bridge you’ll do it too?” Same goes here you have to do what your mind wants to do not what everyone else is doing it.
5. Benefits. Most likely success is going to come out of this because if you’re one of those people that try to be funny in class and mess around you are on the side that’s not doing good. If you switch this around I bet you can be an A student because you're not trying to please anyone. You feel better and think better when you are an nonconformist you think more free and you feel like you are on top because you’re happy (Guise).

Break Ups

Going through a break up isn't easy if you had true feelings about the person. People break up with their girlfriend/boyfriend for many different reasons but sometimes they just think they want to break up. When I have a girlfriend I don't play around I take it serious and if she isn't then it's not going to work out because I want someone that is going to try. This happens a lot when two people are together and when things are going good they want to stay but when things go bad either one or both people want to split and take the easy way out. Break ups teach us a lot of things like: if you really do like the person, how you feel on that individual, knowing if that person was right for you, finding yourself, and most importantly learning for it.

You find out if that person was right for you, in other words you get to know what type of person you really want instead of your mind just saying what you think you want. There have been times when I have thought I wanted to be with someone when I just thought I did. Like when I had this one girlfriend we didn't talk much but I thought I wanted her. You get a feel for what it's like to go through the experience. The same goes for finding out if that person wasn't right for you. You find out a lot about the person you want and if she or he was right or wrong for you.

When you are with someone and it doesn't work out in the end, you find out that the person you were with wasn't right. I have had my break ups and I sure did learn from them. When I had those break ups I was sad for while some break ups longer than others but I got over it but then I learned from it and learned what I need to change on myself and what type of person I want for my future wife. I don't if some of the stuff I learned were good but to me they help me in everyday life even if my girlfriend tells me stuff on how I react to things and do things. You find out what person is right for you. When you go through a break up thats training for you to find out if yourself needs to change or if that person needed to change. Break ups are natural and they're good for you when you think about it, so don't be to much sad when you go through one just think of the stuff you got out of it.

Finding yourself is key in life. When you go through a break up you find out abilities you didn't know you had and old ones come out. It's just like when you finally understand a math problem and its easy for you to do similar problems, you feel like you're a genius and thats because you already have the ability to comprehend everything but you just discovered it. This is when you start doing things you never thought you would do. You start finding yourself in many ways you didn't know were possible.

If your going through many break ups it is because you are being trained and if you still haven't figured it out you are suppose to learn from the relationships. You learn that somethings you have to change sand somethings you have to keep the same. Every person has to have that special somebody for them they just didn't try enough to find out these things and fix them.

The Masque of the Red Death (Poster)

The room colors are blue, purple, green, orange, white, violet, and black. Blue means birth, which is the starting point of your life. Purple means growth, because you are going to be growing in your new life. Green means spring, that is used because that is one of the seasons just like how orange means summer it is another season. White means age, because when you age into your older life you get white hairs. Violet means darkness and death, this is because violet is between black and purple. Black means death, because black is such a depressing color and death is depressing.

Literature Analysis #1

Percy Jackson goes to his orientation at his new school after being kicked out of 12 schools before. When he gets there he meets these interesting cheerleaders. The interesting part was that they knew his name and they turned out to be demons. They battle it out and Percy meets a girl he talked to last summer and she was different because she could see through the mist and that means that she could see the demons and all the unnatural things. Percy goes back to Camp Half-Blood and disaster strikes there and which ends up to Percy having to learn about the Labyrinth and go on a quest with his friends but the quest is Annabeth's. He goes to see his friend the swords master but see's someone else and it turns out that he doesn't work there anymore and there is a new swords master named Quintus. Everyone at the camp was training and was partnered up and Annabeth and Percy were together and accidentally find a entrance into the Labyrinth. Percy finds out that Luke (son of Hermes) has used this entrance before and is going to try to use it to take over the camp. Annabeth goes to see the prophecy and doesn't like the ending. Percy feels bad for her and tries to cheer her up but doesn't know that the prophecy says that a daughter of Athena is going to die and thinks its her. Anabeth takes Percy, Grover, and Tyson on the quest and have to find Daedalus to stop Luke from taking over. After going through a lot of obstacles they meet Nico di Angelo who Percy thought he had died but is still very much alive. Nico still blamed Percy for the death of his sister but Percy proves to him that he didn't and Nico forgives him. They all go their own way to cover more ground faster. Percy meets with this girl who turns out to be the daughter of Atlas (a Titan). Percy meets with the girl that can see through the mist so that she can help them. Grover finds Pan, he has been looking for Pan for many years and all of the other satyr's have been searching for Pan also and he is the one to find Pan and gets to keep his searchers license. Luke gets ahold of the Ariadne's string and the power of Daedalus and brings Kronos to life. Kronos uses Luke's body as a form. Poseidon tells Percy what's going to happen in the following battle with Kronos and Nico helps Percy out too by giving him strategies.
This fantasy novel is about Greek Mythology. The theme of this book is surrounding this teenage boy and the paths he goes to. Percy Jackson, Annabeth, Grover, and Tyson have to find Pan, Daedalus, and Ariadne's string before Luke. They go through a maze to save Camp Half-Blood from Luke who has tried to take over before.
The author tried to get the characters correct by who they are and what their position is. The authors point of view is what he was trying to make you see by reading and you picturing what is happing just like a movie but your version. Rick Riordan the author is trying to create the tone of the Greek mythology and to make it be as if it was reality.
The one thing that symbolizes that he is the son of Poseidon is that he can control the water with his force. How he is the son of Poseidon means that he wasn't going to have a easy life and he was going to have problems. He shows this when he tries talking to his dad, Poseidon, and asks him if he can help with Nico, Luke, and Grovers problem (pg.44).

Antigone Compare/Contrast

In Antigone, they have problems but not just normal problems, problems with the law. They as in Antigone and her sister Ismene. The person Antigone is fighting against is Creon. Antigone and Creon have similarities and which they both show their true colors and they are both good and bad. They both have their differences as well which are Antigone is loyal to her family and Creon is not and Antigone is loyal to the gods and Creon is loyal to the state.

Antigone is loyal to her family she even talks about it with Ismene and she says, "I am going to hurry him. Will you come" (prologue, 30-35)? Antigone is happy that one of her brothers got buried but scramming mad that her other brother didn't get buried. Antigone is also loyal to the gods. In scene two she says that it's not the gods fault that her brother wasn't allowed to get buried it was Creon's fault.

Creon is different he is not loyal to his family because he says in scene one that his job is more important than anything. This can mean a lot of things but this means he has no loyalty for his family or else he would have said that his family is important too. Creon is also loyal to the state because he says, "To follow the course that he knows is best for the state" (I, 20-25). This means that the state is his main priority.

Antigone shows her pride by saying, "There is no guilt in reverence for the dead" (II, 121). Antigone says something that shows how she is and she says that she will love not hate. When she says this it doesn't mean she's all good because no one can do that but she is simply saying that she is not a fighter she is a lover.

Creon is also a proud character for example he says, "That is my will. Take care that do your part"(I,55). Creon shows he true colors when he starts yelling at Choragos about the gods. When he's yelling at Choragos he's saying why would the gods favor Polyneices' corpse. That shows that he follows his own self.

Antigone and Creon are both to blame for the tragic ending because Antigone disobeyed the law and Creon wasn't thinking responsible. Both of their actions were asinine because their caught up in their feelings. When Antigone disobeyed the law she knew what she was doing but she could have tried reasoning with him more directly. How Creon reacted to what Antigone was doing was wrong because he wasn't thinking like a king.
