Leopard Man

In The Sociology of Leopard Man, Logan Feys explains in his article that,”Society tends to discourage people from expressing their unique ideas and behaving in ways that are different from their peers.” I believe this is true because very few people can be themselves. Everyone should feel comfortable with how they really are. It’s hard to believe that people get bullied for being different. People that are different are awesome because they are showing that you don’t have to be like everyone else.

The author’s argument is saying something that is true. Why should people be scared to show the world who they really are? They shouldn’t be scared. When he says,”Society looks down upon freakish and extraordinary individuals alike and views them with suspicion,” that is true but it shouldn’t be true because what if the two sides switched with the other people wouldn’t like it. You have to put yourself in other peoples shoes and reflect off of that. Doing this can really improve yourself and how you do things and it will be in a good way not bad.

When the author talks about Leopard Man and how his life style is, imagine how people react to that. Does Leopard Man care? No, he doesn’t. He says,”As far as I’m conceded, if theres a paradise on Earth, I’m in it. You’re welcome to what you’ve got I’ll keep this.” This proves that everyone can truly be themselves. People that find themselves are the happiest people because they know who they are and not what they think they are.
